A Widow’s House

One church in Mozambique was motivated to reach out to a poor widow in the same neighborhood as the church. In their local culture women do not work, so after the death of her husband, the widow had no means of support. The church realized that her house was in bad condition and was becoming a danger to her and her three children. The church worked to fix her house and the widow was so grateful that she joined the church. Others in the community saw what the church had done and were challenged by it. Many decided to join the ministry. The church is continuing to think about how they can help widows further, especially in a culture that makes it so difficult for women to earn an income.
